Principal Accountant General


      Ms. Meenakshi Mishra, Pr. Accountant General has taken over as Pr. Accountant General (A&E)-I, Maharashtra with effect from 15.04.2011.

      Ms. Meenakshi Mishra has done B.A. (Honours) in Psychology from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi and M.A. in International Politics, JNU followed by research in International Law and M.Phil in Public Administration. She is an MBA and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

     She is a 1983 Batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service Officer and has held important assignments like Under Secretary and Deputy Secretary (Finance), Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai, Principal Director of Audit, Member Audit Board II, New Delhi, Contracts Officer, UNICEF India, New Delhi and Accountant General (Audit) Delhi. She has wide international auditing experience as she has conducted audit of UNFICYP United Nations Peace Keeping Force, Cyprus and External Audit of World Health Organization, Cairo, Egypt and Saana, Yemen.

   Her talk on Fiscal prudence and Financial Management in Higher Education at the International Conference in Shanghai received wide appreciation. Currently as the Principal Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlement) I, Maharashtra, Mumbai, she is heading the office which is responsible for :

  • Compiling Monthly Civil Accounts of the State.

  • Preparing Annual Finance and Appropriation Accounts.

  • Maintaining GPF accounts of State Government employees and All India Services Provident Fund accounts of All India Service Offices (Maharashtra).

  • Verification/authorization of pension/other retirement benefits to State Government employees for the Greater Mumbai and 14 districts of Western Maharashtra.
